Siem Offshore Contractors is a leader in submarine cable installation, repair and maintenance serving the global offshore renewable energy and oil and gas sectors as well as utility markets since 2003. As part of the Siem Offshore Group since 2011, we are able to leverage direct access to an in-house fleet of more than 40 high-end offshore support and construction vessels to assist in our primary activities.
We offer more than two decades of in-house cable installation experience in combination with best practice and latest vessel technology to operate in harsh environments 24/7 minimising weather delays. The innovative ‘Siem Duo’ consisting of the cable lay Vessel Siem Aimery and installation support vessel Siem Moxie has already set the new standard in offshore renewable projects. We have installed and trenched over 1,000 kilometre of submarine cables and connected more than 300 wind turbines since 2011 in sea states of up to 3.50 metre significant wave height. The Siem Duo has been specifically designed and built to serve the demanding needs for safe and reliable offshore operations in rough seas.
Safety is our priority and we are leading the way with the use of ‘Walk-to-Work’ systems during submarine cable installation as well as inspection, repair and maintenance activities having transferred over 130,000 personnel using these systems to safely increase the operability during poor weather conditions. Our cable lay Vessel Siem Aimery has a sheltered cable laying deck and a sheltered trenching ROV hangar as well as internal craneage for handling equipment including cable protection systems to reduce manual handling.
Furthermore, we are leading the way with innovative subsea and topside inspection, repair and maintenance services based on our in-house fleet of vessels with a focus on Balance of Plant. We also offer secure spare/replacement cable storage, handling and management to selected clients, supported by our marine logistics centre team located in Eemshaven, NL.
